Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
Northwest Spoon is all about fresh, wholesome eats with a Pacific Northwest twist. My family and I watch what we eat, but we also enjoy delicious desserts from time to time. I love to get creative in the kitchen. I believe sharing a good meal with family and friends brings us closer together. It is my hope that these recipes will inspire you to cook fresh too.
On Northwest Spoon, you will find a wide range of recipes with a focus on using fresh ingredients and avoiding processed foods. My specialties include recipes of the Mediterranean diet, healthier American classics and adapting recipes to be gluten-free or plant-based. You will find the recipes on this site to be well tested and achievable. Whether you are a seasoned cook or just starting out, there is something for everyone.
More about my journey in the kitchen
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, but I found my inner chef when I lived in Southern Italy with my family. While living in Italy, I gained a real appreciation for what it means to eat local and cook with only a few wholesome ingredients. While there, I completed culinary classes in the Amalfi Coast and in Tuscany. I have also achieved both a beginning and an advanced culinary certificate from the Bon Vivant School of Cooking in Seattle. I now apply what I learned from these experiences to preparing my favorite dishes using the bounty of fresh Northwest ingredients. I have also taught small hands-on cooking classes and enjoy sharing my experiences with those who are interested in learning about cuisine.
